Responsible for planning scheduling and coordinating products through the production cycle. Establishes production schedules and capacity requirements to meet customer shipments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plans and communicates daily production schedule and batching plans with input from various manufacturing department supervisors.
Coordinates and posts weekly projected production schedules with input from department supervisors to ensure appropriate labor capacity to meet production schedules
Analyze MRP output on a continual basis to identify trends that may cause supply and/or production capacity issues.
Managing and maintaining raw material inventories to ensure production needs are achieved while controlling inventory values and costs.
Scheduling and reporting of co-pack materials and production.
Pre-plans production schedules one week out.
Schedule delivery dates for all bulk tankers; forecast out two weeks at a time and communicate with Director of Production.
Provides feedback to Production Supervisors and Director of Production on changes made during the day.
Assist in inventory cycle counting.
This position is backed up by the Transportation Coordinator.
This position backs up the Production Accountant and Customer Service Representative/Materials Coordinator.
General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require standing and walking for up to 30% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise dust etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available.
Degree in manufacturing related field and 2-4 years scheduling experience in similar manufacturing environment. Knowledge and experience may be substituted for degree.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; individual is detail oriented organized able to set priorities and follow through.
Excellent verbal written interpersonal and math skills essential.
Proficient PC experience with word-processing and spreadsheet software; previous experience with an integrated accounting system a plus.
Able to work occasional weekends.
