Manufacture and package bottles according to specifications; ensure that all quality and sanitation standards are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate all blow mold equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform weight and water leak tests and make adjustments when necessary.
• Package all bottles according to production and sanitation standards.
• Documentation of quality control tests machine records and production activity as directed by lead operator.
• Notify lead operator of any variances repairs or safety issues as they develop.
• Unload plastic resin deliveries as needed.
• Adjust machines for pinch offs tail lengths parisons and heat control as directed by lead operator.
• Assist Lead Operator with mechanical repairs as needed.
• Assist in training new packers.
• Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner to promote food safety quality personal safety and efficiency.
• Mark bottle containers using computerized inventory tracking system with proper identification numbers and labels.
• Startup and shutdown machines when necessary.
• This position is backed up by the Blow Mold Lead position and Blow Mold Operators.
• This position serves as back-up to other Blow Mold Operators and Blow Mold Packers.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. The employee will be exposed to high temperatures and loud noise within the work area. Work involves frequent lifting and carrying of materials and product up to 25 pounds. While performing the responsibilities of the job the employee is required to stand and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk reach with arms and hands climb or balance and to stoop kneel crouch or crawl. Employee will be required to use computers and hand scanners. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses and hearing protectors. The use of smocks and hairnets (and/or beard nets) is required in working area. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Requirements:
• HS degree or GED in addition to 6 mo.-1 year similar manufacturing experience preferably with Johanna Beverage Company.
• Knowledgeable about all responsibilities and duties of Operators and Packers.
• Good verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to set priorities and follow through.
• Able to work varied shifts including weekends.
